A Simple Guide to Evaluating the NCEES Essay Samples
A Simple Guide to Evaluating the NCEES Essay SamplesYour NEH CCES-T exam requires you to use your hands a lot. The easier it is for you to write down, the better. Besides being difficult for you to write on paper, there is a certain amount of clutter that is accumulated while writing with a pen or pad in one hand and your article on the other. Here are a few tips to get you started on the right track. First, you want to choose only those samples that are easy to read. You do not want to be overwhelmed by the examples that you see. The sample that I use is a huge book with sample essays arranged alphabetically. The sample is in section one, which is actually easy to understand. You will need to take it slow and methodically, and not too fast. While you are studying, do not focus on every one of the sample essays at once.As you proceed through the book, move to the next section to test yourself, this way you will be able to find and keep focused on the samples that you have yet to comple te. Do not be afraid to focus on a section over again to help you learn the material faster. If you find that you feel too overwhelmed with the number of samples to try to make your way through, you may want to skip the review sections. Instead, take note of the short paragraphs and evaluate them individually. When you know exactly what needs to be done, you can look for the individual passages that you need to review. You may find that when you put all of the sample essays in your lap, you may want to put them aside. Why? Well, each sample may contain a variety of information that is different and therefore may not necessarily be useful to you. There are several good reasons for doing this. One reason is that the sample might be too long for you to take and remember. It might take a minute for you to read a paragraph and then ten minutes to review it. However, if you stop and look at the sample before you forget it, you may find that the information is much more valuable. Plus, you wi ll have an idea of how long the passages need to be read before you move on to the next one. Finally, remember that it takes some time to study for the NEH essay samples that you will receive. So, do not get discouraged if you find that it takes more than a week or two to review all of the material. Get back to the material as soon as possible.
